One of the things you’ll learn about me is my stance on sugar — there is too much consumption of it in our daily meals and beverages! I learned about this and became a strong supporter by reading Jorge Cruise’s book The Belly Fat Cure almost two years ago.
It’s simple, when you take a look at the amount of sugar consumed in every food and beverage you have on a daily basis, it’s totally insane and we wonder why we gain weight, have low energy levels and other health problems. The book is a simple read and basically filled with recipes and information on the amount of sugar (and carbs) there are in common everyday foods. By simply cutting back on my sugar (and carbs) and really watching the portions of my foods, I lost 2 pant sizes in less than 2 months with no exercise — and I’ve kept the weight off.
Now with that said, don’t think that I have gone cold turkey and never go out to eat or have desserts because that’s not true! I have to be a realistic! I just pick and choose my battles! I pick a more a sensible meal at a restaurant based on the ingredients and for desserts, I make sure that the sugar I’m consuming is really worth it. I will not eat the store-made dessert but when someone has lovingly baked a dessert from scratch, the choice is really simple. It’s a matter of making the right choices and enjoying food to its fullest without the guilt!
I believe that everyone has to do what’s best for them, but whatever you do, just take a look at the amount of sugar you’re consuming every day — I know you’ll be very surprised.
